'Kneecap' Takes Lead in British Independent Film Awards Craft Wins

The Irish comedy biopic secures four awards, leading this year’s nominations with a total of 14 nods.

Rich Peppiatt's 'Kneecap' won Best Casting, Best Editing, Best Original Music, and Best Music Supervision at the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) craft categories.
'Kneecap,' a comedy about a Belfast hip-hop trio, is also Ireland's submission for the Oscars international film race and leads BIFA nominations with 14 overall nods.
Other notable winners include Alex Garland's 'Civil War,' which won Best Effects and Best Sound, and Rose Glass' 'Love Lies Bleeding,' which took home Best Cinematography.
Michael O’Connor won Best Costume Design for 'Firebrand,' while Lisa Mustafa earned Best Makeup and Hair Design for 'Unicorns.'
The remaining BIFA awards, including Best Film and performance categories, will be announced at the main ceremony on December 8 in London.
