Overview
- RCMP said they were alerted on Oct. 5 at about 9:45 a.m. that KLM flight 601 was diverting with an unresponsive passenger.
- The aircraft made an emergency landing at Yellowknife Airport, where the woman was transferred to Stanton Territorial Hospital.
- Medical professionals and first responders attempted life-saving measures, but the 34-year-old was declared dead at the hospital.
- Police say the matter is being investigated with the Northwest Territories Coroner’s Service, and no cause of death has been released.
- The flight, a scheduled Amsterdam–Los Angeles service, is operated by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and the carrier has not issued public comment.
