Klarna Launches UK Cashback Letting Shoppers Earn Up to 10%

The rollout coincides with FCA plans to bring buy now, pay later under regulation from July 2026.

Overview

  • The feature is live in the Klarna app for millions of UK users and awards up to 10% back when purchases are made through the app, even if paid with another method.
  • Cashback is applied in the Klarna app and can be redeemed as e-money to a Klarna balance, withdrawn, or used toward future purchases wherever Klarna is available.
  • Participating retailers include Boots, Just Eat, Temu, Expedia, Dyson, Samsung and Hotels.com, with additional brands being added over time.
  • There is no cap on earnings, though cashback may expire after 90 days of account inactivity, with premium members exempt from expiry.
  • The launch comes as the FCA consults on BNPL rules that would introduce affordability checks and access to the Financial Ombudsman Service when regulation begins in July 2026.
