Kipyegon sets third world record in two months with new mile mark in Monaco

Kipyegon broke the women's mile record by nearly five seconds, finishing in 4:07.64.
This is Kipyegon's third world record in two months after previously setting new 1500m and 5000m records.
The previous mile record was set in 2019 by Sifan Hassan.
Kipyegon expressed her intention to defend her 1500m title and compete in the 5000m at the upcoming World Championships.
The race took place at the Monaco Diamond League meeting on July 21, 2022.
