Overview

  • The Los Angeles Kings remain winless at 0-3-2 and Laviolette said the group is frustrated and urgently needs a victory to stop the slow start.
  • Laviolette announced lineup moves that put Alex Laferriere on the top line with Artemi Panarin and Adrian Kempe and moves Quinton Byfield to the second line with Trevor Moore.
  • Mathias Zuccarello is on injured reserve and not eligible to play tonight, leaving the Kings short a veteran middle-forward option.
  • The projected goaltender for Los Angeles is Darcy Kuemper while Boston is expected to start Jeremy Swayman after playing the night before, a factor that could influence fatigue and matchups.
  • Laviolette will coach his 1,600th career game tonight as the club leans on extra practice time and lineup tweaks to try to improve a weak power play and an early-season goals-against problem.
