Kings' First-Round Pick Devin Carter Out for Six Months After Shoulder Surgery

Sacramento Kings rookie Devin Carter underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum, delaying his NBA debut until at least mid-January 2024.

Devin Carter, the 13th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, had successful left shoulder surgery.
Carter's injury was known to the Kings before drafting him, sustained during a pre-draft workout.
The Kings have been active this offseason, acquiring DeMar DeRozan and trading for Jalen McDaniels.
Carter was expected to back up All-Star De'Aaron Fox but will now miss the start of the season.
Sacramento may seek another backup point guard, with Malik Monk and Jordan McLaughlin as current options.
