Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, the next installment in the 'Planet of the Apes' film series, introduces audiences to a world several generations after Caesar's reign, where apes are the dominant species.
The film's new trailer introduces a new key lead character named Noa, who is set to take over Caesar's legacy. Noa, from the 'Eagle Clan', embarks on a journey that could drastically alter the kingdom of apes.
While fans initially speculated that the film would feature Dr. Zaius, an iconic villain from the 1968 'Planet of the Apes' film, the trailer reveals that the character is actually a new orangutan named Raka, voiced by Peter Macon.
The film also introduces the character Proximus Caesar, played by Kevin Durand. The character is teased as a potential antagonist for Cornelius, Caesar's son.
The 'Planet of the Apes' reboot series, which began in 2011, was critically acclaimed for its quality and for the direction of Matt Reeves. The forthcoming film, 'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes', is directed by Wes Ball.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is set to premiere in theaters on May 24, 2024.
