The King, along with Queen Mary and Queen Margrethe, attended a special celebratory church service at Aarhus Cathedral.
The royal family drove 3.5 kilometers through Aarhus, Denmark's second-largest city, from the royal residence Marselisborg Castle to the cathedral.
The service marked exactly one week since Frederik, 55, was proclaimed king after his mother, Queen Margrethe, abdicated.
Local residents and the police expected around 70,000 people to line the royal route.
