King Charles Releases New Portrait Honoring Scottish Burns Night

A new portrait of King Charles III was released on January 25, 2025, to mark Burns Night, an annual celebration of Scottish poet Robert Burns.
The image, taken last fall by royal photographer Millie Pilkington, shows the King wearing a kilt made of the King Charles III tartan in the library of Balmoral Castle.
The photo was shared on the Royal Family's official Instagram page, accompanied by a message wishing celebrants a happy Burns Night.
The monarch, currently undergoing ongoing cancer treatment, has expressed gratitude for the support of medical professionals and well-wishers over the past year.
King Charles is scheduled to visit Poland on January 27 for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, marking his fifth trip to the country.
