King Charles Reaches Highest Approval in YouGov Tracker

The rise reflects steady backing for senior royals with a small rebound for Prince Harry after a July family reunion.

Overview

  • YouGov’s July 21–22 polling found 68% of Britons say King Charles is doing a good job, the highest level recorded in the tracker to date.
  • Prince Harry’s favourability rose to 33% in the same July poll, a six-point increase since May 2025 that commentators link to his July 10 reunion with the King at Highgrove.
  • The Prince and Princess of Wales remain the most popular senior royals with roughly 74–76% positive ratings while Princess Anne holds about 70% favourability.
  • Opinion remains sharply divided on some figures: Queen Camilla is essentially split (about 43% positive vs 44% negative), Meghan Markle is viewed unfavourably by two thirds of respondents, and Prince Andrew scores a record-low 2% positive.
  • Public support for the institution is steady with 64% backing continuation of the monarchy, 54% saying it is good value for money, and Conservatives far more likely to approve of the King than Reform UK or Green voters.
