Overview
- King Charles III re-presented the new Squadron Standard to Number 42 (Torpedo Bomber) Squadron in a stand-up parade marking its reformation.
- He toured the Poseidon hangar and inspected a P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft to showcase its anti-submarine, surveillance and search-and-rescue capabilities.
- The monarch publicly thanked service families for their “encouragement and understanding,” noting their critical support ahead of VJ Day and his annual summer break.
- He praised RAF Lossiemouth’s Quick Reaction Alert function and highlighted the base’s world-leading training of NATO personnel from Canada, Norway and Germany.
