King and Dufferin Reopen Thursday, Two Weeks Early, After Track Work

Streetcar service remains diverted as the TTC prepares to commission the new tracks next week.

Overview

  • City officials said the intersection will reopen to vehicles, TTC buses and bicycles on October 30, beating the mid-November target by two weeks.
  • Regular 29/329 Dufferin and 929 Dufferin Express bus service will resume through the intersection, and Wheel-Trans will continue where local traffic is permitted.
  • The 504 King streetcar will not return immediately, with commissioning and safety testing of the rebuilt tracks scheduled for the week of November 3.
  • During testing, 504A/304 King and 508 Lake Shore streetcars will divert via Queen Street West between Shaw Street and Roncesvalles Avenue, and 504B will remain shortened to Bathurst Street.
  • The TTC will temporarily extend 503 Kingston Road buses west along King to Roncesvalles Avenue, part of coordinated adjustments as the long-running state-of-good-repair program advances.
