Kinetic Green Launches E-Luna Prime at Rs 82,490, Targeting Mass-Market Electric Commuters

The rollout leans on low running costs to build scale as the PM E-Drive subsidy approaches a 2026 sunset.

Overview

  • The new E-Luna Prime offers two variants with approximate ranges of 110 km and 140 km per charge, adding utility-focused features for work and daily travel.
  • Founder and CEO Sulajja Firodia Motwani said the ₹5,000 per kWh incentive for e-two- and three-wheelers is set to end in March 2026 and an extension appears unlikely.
  • Kinetic Green is targeting $1 billion in revenue within 5–6 years from about ₹500 crore currently and plans to raise an additional $30–50 million after a prior $25 million round.
  • The company plans to begin exporting Torino Lamborghini-branded electric golf carts to the U.S. from January, with U.S. tariffs on India and anti-dumping duties on Chinese carts shaping competitiveness.
  • Battery-pack costs have fallen to roughly ₹9,000 per kWh from about ₹16,000 five years ago with a goal of ₹8,000, and the firm reports a dealer network of around 400 outlets across India.
