• On Sept. 26, Jimmy Kimmel posted a photo of sidekick Guillermo on an escalator with the caption, “Escalator is working great!” in a jab at the president.
• During Trump’s Sept. 23 visit to the United Nations, the escalator carrying him and the first lady stopped and he later labeled the episode part of a “triple sabotage” and urged investigations.
• U.N. spokesman Stéphane Dujarric said it is believed a U.S. videographer accidentally brought the escalator to a halt.
