• Novak made a rare public appearance on Aug. 28 at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, her first major outing in about a decade.
• She is scheduled to receive the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement on Sept. 1, with the documentary Kim Novak’s Vertigo premiering the same day.
• The documentary, produced by longtime manager Sue Cameron and directed by Alexandre Philippe, has been over 15 years in the making and began filming in Novak’s Oregon home.
• Novak told The Guardian she is “concerned” about the developing biopic Scandalous!, saying the title misrepresents her 1957 relationship with Sammy Davis Jr. and worrying the story will be framed as merely sexual.
• Scandalous! is in development as Colman Domingo’s directorial debut starring Sydney Sweeney as Novak and David Jonsson as Davis, revisiting a romance shaped by racist opposition and reported threats from Columbia chief Harry Cohn.
