Kick-Ass 3 Script Halfway Complete, Part of New 'Meta' Trilogy

Director Matthew Vaughn reveals plans for a new Kick-Ass trilogy, despite past controversy over violence in the franchise.

Matthew Vaughn, the director of the Kick-Ass franchise, has revealed that the script for Kick-Ass 3 is halfway complete.
Kick-Ass 3 is part of a new trilogy, which includes the already completed film School Fight and another film called Vram.
Jim Carrey, who played a role in Kick-Ass 2, publicly denounced the film for its level of violence in light of the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting.
The new trilogy is set to be a 'meta' reboot, taking the concept of an R-rated superhero to a new level.
Vaughn hopes that School Fight might debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2024, or Sundance 2025.
