Overview

  • The governor inspected the Acueducto Planta Patagonia–Bosque Alto–Los Chañares works featuring two new cisterns of 30 million and 10 million liters with pumping stations and new aqueducts of roughly 8 km and 5 km.
  • Kicillof said the cistern stage required about $25 million out of a $100 million hydraulic program and he delivered medical imaging equipment to Hospital Penna plus school transport vans.
  • Buenos Aires Province will fully fund the Canal Maldonado reconstruction with 109 billion pesos, with staged work starting in September and completion targeted between 2026 and 2028.
  • The redesigned channel widens the base from 19 to 26 meters with 3.5 meters depth, triples drainage capacity from 300 to 900 m³/s, rebuilds 6,360 meters, and replaces 16 bridges including larger versions of key choke points.
  • The projects follow the March 7 overflow of Canal Maldonado and Arroyo Napostá that left 18 dead, while a national veto on emergency aid has delayed some subsidies for affected families.
