Kicillof to Lead Union-Backed Launch of Fuerza Patria’s October Campaign in La Plata

The opposition bloc leverages labor muscle to turn recent momentum into congressional gains through local tactics.

Overview

  • The kickoff is scheduled for Monday at Club Atenas in La Plata under the motto “Con la Fuerza de los Trabajadores,” with participation from the CGT and both CTAs.
  • Ex–foreign minister Jorge Taiana heads the national list as first candidate, with a slate that features union leaders Hugo Yasky, Oscar de Isasi, Hugo Moyano (h), Vanesa Siley, Daniel Catalano and Sergio Palazzo.
  • Kicillof urged leaders to “militar” the campaign to confront President Javier Milei after September’s provincial wins, telling supporters that peronism remains “de pie.”
  • In the City of Buenos Aires, the strategy centers on polarizing with Milei to draw useful votes, led by Mariano Recalde with a larger role for Cristina Kirchner through audio appearances and a heavy on-the-ground push.
  • In Santa Fe, the coalition is touring towns with a ploteado campaign micro and holding citizen assemblies, featuring imagery of lead candidate Caren Tepp alongside Juan Monteverde, who is not on the ballot.
