Kichenok and Ostapenko Capture First US Open Women's Doubles Title

Lyudmyla Kichenok postponed her wedding to secure the Grand Slam victory with partner Jelena Ostapenko.

The duo defeated Kristina Mladenovic and Zhang Shuai 6-4, 6-3 in the final.
This marks their first Grand Slam title as a team, having previously reached the Australian Open final.
Kichenok, engaged to Ostapenko's coach, postponed her wedding for the tournament.
They did not lose a set throughout the competition.
Kichenok dedicated the victory to Ukraine.
