Kia Unveils Seven Modular PV5 Electric Van Variants Ahead of Korea Launch

Overview

  • At PV5 Tech Day in Gwangmyeong, Kia showcased seven new body types—including a camper, pickup, premium passenger and refrigerated truck—enabled by its Flexible Body System modular architecture.
  • Built on the E-GMP.S platform, the mid-size PV5 spans 4,695 mm in length and 1,895 mm in width yet delivers Carnival-level interior space with a flat low floor and wheelchair-accessible sliding doors.
  • The PV5 offers a 71.2 kWh battery option that provides up to 404 km of urban range for passenger models and a combined 377 km for cargo variants.
  • Production is set to start in South Korea in August 2025, followed by European deliveries in Q4 at a starting price of €35,000 and a Canadian rollout in Q3 2026.
  • Kia has secured initial fleet agreements with Uber and DHL Express and is in talks with Coupang and CJ Logistics as part of its strategy to scale modular electric vans.
