Overview
- The PV7, which Kia revealed Monday at the IAA Transportation show in Hannover, sits on the new E‑GMP.S PBV architecture and is the company’s second dedicated electric van after the PV5.
- Kia published core specs at the reveal, offering two battery sizes (71.5 kWh and 96.2 kWh), a quoted long-range figure of about 285–286 miles for the long-range cargo variant, and 350 kW DC charging capable of 10–80% in roughly 25 minutes.
- The model will launch in Cargo, Passenger and Chassis Cab forms with multiple lengths and roof heights, load volumes up to about 8.0 m3 (high roof), payloads up to roughly 1,200 kg, and space for up to three Euro pallets.
- Fleet and safety tech on the PV7 includes Pleos Connect infotainment with Android Automotive and Gleo AI, Pleos Fleet software and open APIs, vehicle-to-load power output, over-the-air updates, and new driver aids such as Pedal Misapplication Safety Assist.
- Kia plans to begin sales in South Korea and Europe in the second half of 2027, with an AWD variant, final market specs, pricing and confirmed passenger-seat mixes still to be announced, and a larger PV9 scheduled for 2029.
