Overview
- The Weekender version of the EV5 debuts with a lifted suspension, wider fenders, chunkier bumpers, roof rack, tow and recovery points, and 20-inch all-terrain tires.
- The interior is redesigned for outdoor use with yellow accents, a new steering wheel and display layout, removable and fold-flat rear seats, tie-downs, camp lights, smart storage, and a tailgate that doubles as a table.
- Developed by Kia’s China design team, it is the fourth model to wear the WKNDR badge after the EV9, PV5, and Tasman concepts.
- The concept sits on the production EV5’s E-GMP platform; the EV5 offers 60.3 kWh and 81.4 kWh batteries with WLTP ranges of about 400 km and 530 km.
- Analyst Tycho de Feijter has suggested the Weekender could be built, and reporting notes the EV5’s North American sales are slated for Canada only.
