Kia Leads Massive Vehicle Recall Over Rollaway Risk

Over 427,000 Telluride SUVs are being recalled alongside models from Subaru, Ford, BMW, and Kawasaki due to various safety concerns.

Over 427,000 Kia Telluride vehicles recalled due to a defect that may cause them to roll away when parked.
The recall also includes vehicles from Subaru, Ford, BMW, and Kawasaki, addressing issues ranging from airbag failures to tire damage.
Kia advises owners to use the emergency parking brake before exiting the vehicle until a recall remedy is implemented.
Affected vehicles include those manufactured between January 9, 2019, and October 19, 2023, estimated to be about 1% of all 2020-2024 Telluride SUVs.
Dealers will update the electronic parking brake software and replace any damaged intermediate shafts for free.
