Kia K4 Hatch Debuts for Europe With UK Sales in Q4 and Australia Launch in November

Built in Mexico, the new compact arrives with petrol and mild-hybrid options now and a full hybrid confirmed for 2026.

Overview

  • Australian showrooms will receive the K4 hatch in November 2025 with customer deliveries due by year-end, and the updated sedan is set to follow shortly after.
  • For Australia’s MY26, the S, Sport and Sport+ switch to a more efficient Atkinson-cycle 2.0-litre paired with a CVT, producing 110 kW and 180 Nm and trimming fuel use by about 10 percent versus the current setup.
  • Europe’s range features a 1.0 T-GDi (manual or mild-hybrid with 7-speed DCT) and a 1.6 T-GDi (150 or 180 PS with 7-speed DCT), with a full-hybrid variant scheduled for 2026.
  • UK arrivals are planned for the fourth quarter of 2025, with K4 production allocated to Kia’s new factory in Mexico.
  • ANCAP has issued a split rating in Australia, awarding four stars to the base S and five stars to higher trims due to additional standard crash-avoidance features.
