Kia EVs to Tesla Superchargers Starting January 15, 2025
Kia will provide free NACS adapters to new EV6 and EV9 owners, while existing owners will need to purchase them.
- Kia will roll out NACS adapters to its EV6 and EV9 owners on January 15, 2025, allowing access to Tesla's network of over 16,500 Superchargers in the U.S.
- Customers who purchase a new 2024 or 2025 Kia EV9 or 2024 EV6 from September 4, 2024, onward will receive a complimentary NACS adapter.
- Existing Kia EV owners will need to buy the adapter, with pricing yet to be announced, though GM's similar adapter costs $225.
- Kia plans to offer three types of adapters: NACS to CCS1, CCS1 to NACS, and J1772 to NACS, facilitating various charging options.
- A software update in early 2025 will enable Kia EV owners to locate and pay for charging via the in-car infotainment system.
