Kia Confirms PV5 Electric Van for Australia in 2026

Kia targets fleet electrification with a modular, EV-only PBV built on the new E-GMP.S platform.

Overview

  • Australian showroom arrivals are planned for April to September 2026, following initial deliveries to Korea and Europe.
  • The PV5 will be sold exclusively as a battery-electric vehicle, marking Kia’s return to Australia’s van market without a diesel option.
  • Multiple body styles are confirmed, including Passenger, Cargo and High Roof versions, plus a dedicated wheelchair-accessible variant enabled by a Flexible Body System.
  • Battery choices include 51.5kWh and 71.2kWh NMC packs for Passenger and Cargo models, with a 43.3kWh LFP option for Cargo; WLTP range for 71.2kWh variants is up to about 412–416km.
  • Kia quotes a 10–80% DC fast-charge time within 30 minutes (peak power not specified), and the van features PBV-specific Android Automotive software with built-in telematics for fleet use.
