Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Adds Rs300m to Education Foundation as CM Awards Rs64m in Student Scholarships

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi distributed Rs64 million in cheques to 347 undergraduate and graduate students at a ceremony in Peshawar.
An additional Rs300 million was allocated to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Education Foundation, with Rs200 million for settled districts and Rs100 million for merged districts.
Officials said the scholarship selection used an automated online portal designed to enhance transparency after receiving more than 15,000 applications.
The government framed the effort as supporting equitable access for middle- and low-income families so talented students do not leave education for financial reasons.
Afridi announced plans for market-aligned academic disciplines and a new internship programme to boost employability, with implementation details yet to be set.
