Overview
- On December 31, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge posted a 14-point critique accusing the BJP of plunder, corruption and misgovernance in 2025.
- He targeted Parliament’s new Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) law replacing MGNREGA, alleging the poor lost a ‘right to work’ despite the shift to 125 guaranteed days and a 60:40 Centre–state funding split.
- He alleged the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, conducted without proper BLO training, deprived millions of their votes and enabled ‘vote theft’.
- Citing economic distress, he pointed to the rupee’s record low near 91 per dollar, reported RBI dollar sales of about $32 billion, high youth unemployment and widening inequality.
- The BJP, through spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari, rejected the allegations and said India’s rise to the world’s fourth-largest economy reflects hard reforms and policy execution.
