KHADC Establishes Inquiry Panel to Probe MLA Land Allotments in Law Mawpat

- The Executive Committee appointed John Dkhar, Andy Syiem and Sharai Lamare to lead the investigation into alleged land grants to MLAs and other parties within Law Mawpat.

- Council officials initiated the probe after CEM Shemborlang Rynjah’s on-site inspection uncovered boundary pillars and reports of unauthorized acquisitions.
- The inquiry team must submit its findings within three months, after which the KHADC will determine any corrective measures.
- Voice of the People Party youth and women’s wings have called a public meeting this weekend to press for restoration of the forest’s protected designation.
