Keychron Debuts Q Ultra ZMK Keyboards at CES With Claimed 660-Hour 8K Wireless Performance

The release brings enthusiast ZMK firmware into mass-produced wireless mechanical boards.

Overview

  • The first Q Ultra models — Q1 Ultra (75%, $229.99), Q3 Ultra (tenkeyless, $229.99), and Q6 Ultra (full-size, $239.99) — go on sale today on Keychron’s site.
  • Lower-cost V Ultra variants arrive later in January with plastic cases: V5 Ultra (96%) at $119.99, plus V3 Ultra (TKL) and V1 Ultra (75%) at $114.99.
  • Keychron says ZMK enables up to 660 hours of battery life at an 8,000Hz polling rate in 2.4GHz wireless mode, targeting wired-like responsiveness.
  • Ultra models add Silk POM switches, gasket-mount designs with layered foam, and support 2.4GHz, Bluetooth, and wired connections on a new 1MB flash MCU.
  • Special editions are slated next: K2 HE Resin and K2 HE Concrete with Hall Effect switches in February, followed by a Q1 HE 8K Marble version in April.
