Phil Cox, a key adviser, has returned to the super PAC Never Back Down, which supports Gov. Ron DeSantis’s presidential campaign.
The return of Cox comes amidst a series of major changes in the organization, including the resignations of the super PAC’s chief executive, Chris Jankowski, and the chairman, Adam Laxalt.
Kristin Davison, who had been named chief executive days earlier, was also fired along with two other senior officials.
The upheaval in the super PAC comes as DeSantis struggles to slow the momentum of Nikki Haley, who has surged in polls after strong debate performances.
Cox's return is expected to help the PAC in coordinating events, handling travel logistics and financing research and polling.
