Overview
- The England rugby union coach set off from Bury St Edmunds toward Ipswich’s Portman Road on day one of seven.
- Former Ipswich striker Marcus Stewart, who lives with MND, is the day’s honouree and is meeting Sinfield at the finish.
- Each leg covers at least 45km in 7km sections and includes an Extra Mile alongside members of the MND community.
- The route continues to Cork, Swansea, Sheffield, Cumbria and Scotland before a Leeds finish on 7 December.
- Funds will be shared by the MND Association, Leeds Hospital Charity, the Irish MND Association, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, MND Scotland and the Darby Rimmer Foundation, with recent cases such as Lewis Moody’s diagnosis and a 14-year-old’s death underlining the urgency.
