Kevin Konther Sentenced to 140 Years for Series of Rapes

Konther, who initially tried to blame his twin brother for the crimes, was found guilty of multiple sexual assaults dating back to the 1990s.

Kevin Konther, a 58-year-old California man, has been sentenced to 140 years in prison for a series of rapes and a molestation case dating back to the 1990s.
Konther was found guilty of raping a 9-year-old girl in 1995, a 32-year-old woman in 1998, and molesting a former girlfriend’s daughter between 1999 and 2003.
Konther initially tried to blame his identical twin brother for the crimes, but covertly recorded conversations between the two following their arrests revealed incriminating statements made by Konther, including admissions of guilt.
Genealogy technology was used to identify Konther as the perpetrator, leading to his arrest along with his twin brother in 2019.
Konther's defense claimed that he was taking the blame for crimes committed by his brother, but the jury convicted Konther in February 2023 of multiple felony charges linked to the sexual assaults.
