Overview

• The conclave is scheduled for August 2–3 at the Kerala Legislative Assembly and will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
• Nine thematic panels will address issues ranging from gender equality and workplace safety to labor law applicability, e-ticketing, future technologies and freedom of expression.
• Around 500 delegates from 17 Indian states with existing cinema policies will join film personalities from France, Italy, Korea, Japan, the UAE, the UK and various Indian industries.
• The draft framework incorporates recommendations from the Hema Committee’s report on harassment and the earlier guidance of the Adoor Gopalakrishnan committee.
• Organizers aim to finalize the comprehensive Malayalam cinema policy within six months of the conclave’s conclusion.
