• Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the institution via video, describing Ramachandran’s work as a link between India’s painting traditions and contemporary practice.
• The museum sits within the Sree Narayana Guru Cultural Complex in Kollam and spans 7,000 square feet curated to international standards by art expert Shivakumar.
• The displays cover the artist’s paintings, sculptures, ceramics, stamp designs, children’s books, and studio materials, with officials valuing the collection at over Rs 300 crore.
• Culture Minister Saji Cherian presided over the ceremony attended by ministers K. N. Balagopal and J. Chinchurani, CPI(M) leader M. A. Baby, and members of Ramachandran’s family.
• The Kerala Lalit Kala Akademi marked the opening by releasing Malayalam translations of five children’s books co-authored by A. Ramachandran and Chameli Ramachandran.
