Overview

• The cabinet ratified a 52-day coastal trawling ban running from June 9 midnight to July 31 midnight to protect marine resources during the fish breeding season.
• It approved leasing 10 acres at Thonnakkal to CSIR-NIIST for 90 years without financial obligation to house a ₹215 crore Centre for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship at Bio360 Life Science Park-Phase II.
• The government granted revised administrative approval for a ₹643.88 crore Institute of Organ and Tissue Transplant to be established in Kozhikode.
• The monthly salary of special public prosecutors was increased from ₹60,000 to ₹70,000 effective January 1, 2025.
• Approval was given to extend 688 temporary posts under the Land Board for one more year.
