Kerala Authorizes Euthanasia for Diseased Strays and Deploys Mobile ABC Units

The state has invoked Section 8 of the 2023 Animal Husbandry Rules to permit certified euthanasia of incurably sick strays ahead of a full rollout of mobile ABC units.

Local Self-Government Minister MB Rajesh said stray dogs that are gravely ill or injured may be euthanised, provided a veterinary surgeon certifies their condition.
