Overview

• The 14th session runs from September 15 to October 10 with 12 sittings, nine reserved for official legislation and two for private members’ business.
• Speaker A. N. Shamseer outlined a bill slate that includes the Kerala General Sales Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2024, the Kerala Societies Registration Bill, 2025, the Guruvayur Devaswom (Amendment) Bill, and the Kerala Coir Workers Welfare Cess (Amendment) Bill, plus the Kerala Public Records Bill, 2023.
• Proceedings on the first day will adjourn after tributes to former Chief Minister V. S. Achuthanandan, former Speaker P. P. Thankachan, and Peermade MLA Vazhoor Soman.
• The UDF plans to press the LDF government over CCTV footage of custodial torture at Kunnamkulam police station and over leaked corruption allegations involving CPI(M) figures.
• Suspended Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil has been allotted a separate block in the House following a request from LoP V. D. Satheesan, with his attendance left to his discretion.
