Kentucky Firefighters Rescue Trapped Construction Worker After Eight-Hour Effort

A construction worker in Louisville was rescued from a 12-foot trench following a complex operation by specialized teams.

The worker fell into a void at a demolition site for a new medical campus in Louisville, becoming trapped under rubble.
The rescue operation involved stabilizing the area and removing debris by hand, using tools like vacuum trucks and propane heaters.
Firefighters were able to communicate with the worker, who remained conscious and alert, and was later transported to the University of Louisville Hospital.
