Kent State Removes Interim Tag, Names Mark Carney Head Football Coach

The promotion follows an early-season turnaround to 3-5 overall with a 2-2 mark in MAC play under Carney.

Overview

  • The university made the move official Thursday, installing Carney as the program's 24th head coach.
  • Athletic director Randale L. Richmond praised Carney's impact on culture and performance, saying he earned the right to lead the program.
