Kenny Leon to Direct Broadway Revival of Thornton Wilder's 'Our Town' in Fall 2024

Diverse cast promised for 2024 production under Kenny Leon, marking the play's sixth Broadway performance since its 1938 debut.

Kenny Leon, acclaimed Broadway director and Tony Award winner, is set to direct the sixth Broadway revival of Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning 'Our Town' in fall 2024.
Leon, known for his work on productions such as 'Purlie Victorious', 'A Raisin in the Sun', and the Tony-winning 'Topdog/Underdog', has expressed his desire to present the classic play to a new generation of theatre lovers.
Promising unique diversity in casting, Leon plans to make the performance reflect contemporary America and aims to create a production that 'speaks to each and every heart in America'.
This marks Leon's third time directing 'Our Town', previously tackling the play twice in Atlanta, including a one-night reading with Scarlett Johansson and the cast of an Avengers movie for hurricane victims in Puerto Rico in 2017.
The new staging of 'Our Town', which explores the relationship between two neighbors in Grover's Corners, represents the first major Broadway revival in over 20 years; the last Broadway production in 2002 featured actor Paul Newman.
