Overview

  • Richardson officers arrived just before 5 a.m. Saturday on North Central Expressway and found 27-year-old Cody Morris of Plano dead at the scene.
  • At 5:39 a.m., Joseph called Plano police to report his involvement in the collision and was found to show signs of intoxication.
  • He faces misdemeanor driving-while-intoxicated charges and a felony count of collision involving personal injury or death and remains jailed without bond.
  • Joseph was a 2021 second-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys who has since spent time with five NFL teams before joining the DC Defenders this season.
  • The DC Defenders are still scheduled to play the St. Louis Battlehawks in the UFL conference championship on Sunday despite Joseph’s absence.
