Keira Knightley Says Her Daughters Don’t Care About Her Fame as She Promotes Netflix’s The Woman in Cabin 10

Knightley says motherhood has made her choosier about roles, steering her toward lighter, entertainment-focused projects.

Overview

  • Speaking to People at a BAFTA London screening on Sept. 25, Knightley said her 10- and 6-year-old are uninterested in her work, with one calling it "completely ridiculous" and the other thinking TV performances are real.
  • She has previously explained that parenting led her to turn down scripts centered on children or mothers dying.
  • Knightley said she took The Woman in Cabin 10 partly because she admires director Simon Stone and wanted an entertaining thriller.
  • The film adapts Ruth Ware’s 2016 novel, following travel journalist Laura "Lo" Blacklock as she pursues answers after witnessing a suspected overboard incident that others deny.
  • The cast includes Hannah Waddingham, Guy Pearce, David Ajala, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Kaya Scodelario, with the Netflix release set for Oct. 10.
