A Vijayadashami decision based on Panchang calculations now triggers final scheduling of pre-closure rites plus deity movements to winter seats.

Kedarnath Temple is one of the Char Dham sites in Northern India, situated on the banks of the Mandakini River.

  • Temple officials confirmed the dates through the Shri Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee following the annual Vijayadashami proceedings.
  • The Dharmadhikari and Vedic scholars set the timings per the Panchang, and the Rawal of Badrinath formally announced the closures.
  • The press note said schedules for the traditional Panch Pujas will be finalized along with the muhurat for Shri Uddhav Ji and Shri Kuber Ji to proceed to Pandukeshwar.
  • The auspicious time will also be set for the Adi Guru Shankaracharya’s Gaddi and Shri Garud Ji to move to their winter seat at the Narsingh Temple in Jyotirmath.
  • Closure dates for other Panch Kedar sites will be determined concurrently at Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath for Shri Madmaheshwar Ji and at Shri Markateshwar Temple in Makkumath for Shri Tungnath Ji, and the Bhandar Seva Pagdi for the 2026 season will be presented.
