Overview
- Oscar Feijoo, 44, was taken into custody Sunday shortly before 1 p.m. after exiting his Kearny residence armed with knives.
- Feijoo is charged with murder, aggravated arson, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
- The victim, Pablo Criollo, 45, was found around 6:45–7 p.m. Saturday near Kearny Avenue and Johnston Avenue with an arrow in his back and was pronounced dead at University Hospital in Newark.
- Authorities say Feijoo barricaded himself in his home, where multiple fires were ignited around 5 a.m. Sunday, triggering a multi-alarm response, evacuations, and shelter-in-place orders.
- Hudson County Regional SWAT, Kearny police, and several area fire departments coordinated the response as the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office continues its investigation.
