Centre Finalises Major NEET Reforms as Karnataka Publishes Provisional UG List

The measures are designed to bring exam centres closer to candidates, ensure a single uniform NEET‑PG paper and strengthen end‑to‑end security ahead of the late‑August test.

Overview

  • Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda reviewed NEET‑PG preparedness on Saturday and officials confirmed operational changes for the exam ahead of the August 30 date.
  • NEET‑PG will be held in a single shift with a revised paper of 180 questions to be answered in 210 minutes and candidates may give three state preferences for test centres so centres are allocated nearer their homes.
  • Authorities outlined technical safeguards including multi‑layer encryption, controlled digital decryption just before the test, Aadhaar authentication with iris backup, CCTV, signal jammers and the deployment of more than 60,000 exam functionaries.
  • Karnataka Examinations Authority published a provisional NEET‑UG score list of 69,170 candidates and said a state counselling bulletin, document‑verification schedule and detailed instructions will be issued shortly while the MCC has released the AIQ counselling timetable with registration opening in early August.
  • Candidates should complete separate registrations for state counselling and AIQ, watch official KEA/MCC/NBEMS bulletins, follow document‑verification instructions and use the NBEMS reporting channels to flag suspected malpractice.
