Overview
- Deputies responded around 8:45 p.m. to a threat report on Dempsey Road and pursued a white Honda SUV that refused to stop, according to the KBI.
- Gunfire came from the SUV during the chase, including near North 147th Street and Parallel Road, and a deputy wrecked a patrol vehicle but was treated and released.
- The Honda crashed near North 156th Street and Parallel Road as the high school football game ended, and the district said the incident was unrelated to school activities.
- Passenger Andrew M. Amundsen, 33, fired several rounds before fleeing on foot, entered a nearby home through a basement window, then was found hiding in a truck bed and arrested uninjured.
- Driver Mariah Huggins, 29, was taken into custody at the crash scene, both were booked on outstanding warrants, and additional charges are expected as the KBI continues its investigation.
