Kaziranga Reopens Bagori Range as Tourist Season Begins

  • Kaziranga National Park opened the Bagori (Western) Range to visitors on September 26, formally launching the 2025–26 safari season with an opening ceremony.
  • Assam’s chief minister confirmed the next phases: the Kohora (Central) Range is expected in the second week of October and elephant safaris are scheduled to start from November 1.
  • Manas National Park resumed tourism on September 24 with a Bodoland Territorial Council–led awareness rally and a tribute to singer Zubeen Garg.
  • Officials introduced new conservation and visitor-support steps, including REC-backed solar drinking water upgrades for 120 anti-poaching camps, a SAAHAS–LIC waste management project, an ambulance donation, and uniforms for 650 safari drivers.
  • Planned visitor amenities this season include improved sanitation and drinking water facilities, water ATMs at range gates, an ATM with international card access, a mobile app for safari bookings, and exploratory routes in buffer areas.
