Overview
- Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and G Kishan Reddy confirmed that civil works remain on schedule for a December 2025 handover.
- The 160-acre site features a 60,933 sq m pre-engineered shed and a 13 km internal rail network to support assembly operations.
- The flexible facility design will enable in-house production of rail engines, coaches, wagons and metro train sets upon commissioning in 2026.
- Built on a turnkey basis by RVNL and PowerMech-Taikishna JV, the unit will employ robotic painting, three-phase MEMU propulsion and Kavach train protection systems.
- The project is expected to generate around 3,000 direct jobs, spark ancillary industries in Telangana and bolster exports of 150 Vande Bharat train sets.
