Overview
- Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy inspected the Ayodhyapuram site and said construction has reached roughly three-quarters completion with a target to finish in 2026.
- The first phase is being executed by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited at a cost of ₹521 crore on about 160 acres.
- The unit is planned to manufacture state-of-the-art MEMU rakes, initially in 16–20 car formations, using technology-driven machinery.
- Design features include a 1 MW rooftop solar plant, daylight and ventilation systems, LED lighting, a sewage treatment plant, wastewater recycling, and soak pits.
- Officials say the facility will expand rolling stock capacity, generate local employment, and support ancillary industries, while the minister also reviewed station upgrades, heritage works, the proposed Mamnoor Airport, and the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park.
